We’re The Real Estate Duo, and This is Our Story!

Real estate is our career – since 1980 for Terry, 1983 for June – and we can’t imagine doing anything else!   Until December 2013 we spent our careers at one company –  The Oconomowoc Company which then re-branded as Prudential Absolute Realtors.  In 1987 Terry became co-owner and President of the company. Over the years the company grew, opening offices in Milwaukee’s Third Ward and Whitefish Bay on the North Shore.  June joined Terry on the company’s management team, and we enjoyed the challenges of growing the business..  Through all of this,  June and Terry continued to sell real estate as The Real Estate Duo team.  In 2013, a “perfect storm” of events took place and it was time for Prudential Absolute Realtors to end its run, opening a new door for June and Terry.

Here Comes The Real Estate Duo!

January 1, 2014.  We began doing business as The Real Estate Duo with a fresh focus on what we love doing – giving clients their best real estate buying and selling experience!  The Duo (or “Da Duo” as one of our clients calls us!) is a company of two, June and Terry, enjoying the view from our office in Ixonia overlooking ten acres and the Rock River.  We enjoy people.  We’re passionate about real estate.  And we have fun!

Expertise . . .

“Expertise”  comes with experience, skills and a thorough understanding of the business. Through the decades we’ve experienced every possible real estate market swing and we find ways for our clients to be successful in any market conditions.  In addition to our business experience, we’ve both been in industry leadership roles.  June was President of the Greater Milwaukee Association of REALTORS.  Terry was President of the Waukesha County Association of REALTORS and the Metro Multiple Listing Service, and still serves on the MLS Board of Directors.  In 1991 and 1994 June then Terry were each named REALTOR of the Year for Waukesha County. This exposure to the “big picture” of the real estate business deepened our understanding of the continually changing real estate industry.

The Heart of a Teacher 

Every real estate transaction is unique.  Just when we think we’ve seen it all, we encounter a new twist in a transaction and that becomes a learning opportunity.   We attend conferences across the country to broaden our perspective. We continually “sit in” on internet learning opportunities.  There is a mountain of information out there about real estate and we’ll help you sift through it.

The Power of Two 

Terry is a big-picture thinker.  June is detail-oriented.  Together we form a proactive, creative team that creates a unique plan for success for every buyer or seller.   We act as a sounding board for each other – and you – and our skills and tools mesh together for greater results.

Technology is Dandy . . . But People Come First!

Terry is a technology guru and keeps The Duo on the cutting edge of tech tools.  We wouldn’t want to give up our iPhones, iPads and cloud-based computing that speed up information and communication exchanges. This gives us more time to pay attention to details, to answer questions, to keep you informed during every step of your transaction, and to make your buying or selling experience the best ever. Still, we admit to being a little old-fashioned when it comes to communicating regularly by phone or in person — we simply enjoy people!

Dr. Seuss said,  “Fun is good!”   Dale Carnegie said,  “People rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing!”   We take your real estate business seriously.  And, we have fun doing business!

We work directly with buyers and sellers – we won’t “hand you over” to assistants.  We know what questions buyers and sellers ask us.  We know what the most common trouble areas are in transactions.  We know steps buyers and sellers can take to avoid surprises and pitfalls in their transactions.  And we’re sharing that information on our blog, Press 2 for Real Estate!
